It has a modified choke, but like all .410's it throws a truly lousy pattern no matter what choke is used. To twenty five yards, a .410 will work. Twenty yards is much, much better. Anything much over thirty yards and a .410 will spray it's pellets all over the place. A .410 is really not a beginnner's gun.
