I have used this gun for hunting whitetails and black bears with great success. I really enjoy shooting this gun and have recently began the reloading endeavor. Remington put out a series of ads for the Model 8 & 81 touting them as bear blasters. It was considered THE bear cartridge back in the day.The Marlin 336 Classic is just that! Initially the Classic is only available in .30-30 Winchester however I believe the good folks at Ruger will eventually make the rifle in .35 Remington as well. Fingers crossed....
