I am learning repair as I go and worked with my Dad to try to diagnose this issue. New member. Jun 13, 2011. #1. I have a 15hp Gamefisher Model 225-581500 s/n 1190. Motor started and run good, but there is no p-stream or mist out the two holes in the middle back of the leg. I run the motor about 3 minutes and the head recorded a temperature of about 225 F.

This will fit a 15 hp gamefisher model number 217.586350 serial number 18362437 sears boat motor. This motor was all white. It may fit a 7.5 or 9.9 motor but I am not 100% certain. This motor blew a head gasket and I could not get the head bolts off without them breaking so I am parting the motor out.

I though (and maybe did) have a problem with the float sticking. I took the bottom bowl portion of the carburator off and gave it a throurough cleaning. If you have the water level to the vent screw on the lower unit, then you are probably uncovering the exhaust port and making it easier for the engine to run, no back pressure from the exhaust being submerged.
